 One of these days Enigmail will handle torification itself (the code is
 already in their master branch). And then most of the Torbirdy code that
 deals with Enigmail can go away, which should solve this ticket for free.
 So IMO it's not worth our time to work on a generic solution to this kind
 of problems, at least for Enigmail-related things (see #19971 for a branch
 that addresses real world issues in this area, in an ad-hoc manner,
 without having to wait months for a generic solution).
