The discussion on One-page replacement for LDP-Author-Guide took an interesting turn when Tabatha sent in her views regarding an online editor for LinuxDoc/DockBook. Her requirements include prompting user for tags and validating/processing the document at the backend. She also indicated that someone was working on a PHP based tool for the same and that the the "form" idea, where a user could enter the relevant document information and then proceed to fill in the blanks until the document is complete is the secret of success. Greg Ferguson, however felt that it would be clunky and said that he was not sure how tables, code examples, graphics would be handled and preferred the *easy* way of using a Sample-HOWTO.xml with good old reliable vi.
Several people went on to discuss an alternative interface and tools that might solve the problem of editing in LinuxDoc/DockBook.
