I am a 23 year old undergraduate student at the Leavell College of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. I have been married since 2003 to my wife Pam and we have a daughter Marissa who was born in 2004. I am working on a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry with a minor in Biblical Studies. Eventually I will pursue a Master of Divinity degree in Biblical Studies and possible PhD work down the road.
I have been programming since I was in elementary school and have adopted Perl this past year as my favorite language for doing just about everything. I am familiar with C/C++, Java, PHP and Perl. I also do web design/development as a sole proprietor (thompsonsites.com) in the New Orleans area. I am a Mac fanboy but run FreeBSD on all my servers (2 so far).
I am currently working in the Games::Diplomacy namespace to develop some 'framework' modules for handling Diplomacy game adjudication and mapping functionality. I have a larger project in development at dagman.jamesthompson.us which will make use of my CPAN/PAUSE work as a proof of concept and for testing purposes. I eventually would like to contribute to other modules but will stick to this pet project for now.
